Etude House Sweet Recipe: Ice Cream Nail Polish | Quick Review and Swatches

ETUDE HOUSE'
SWEET RECIPE COLLECTION
Ice Cream Nail Polish

Where: Etude House Boutiques and Counters
Price:

Hi there EH Lovers~ ^^ So here I am again for another but new Nail blog post! :)

I believe that lots of people is anticipating and waited forever for this collection to launch. Including me~! I am actually planning to get all the products in this collection, but we'll see XD

But anyway~ I'll skip the entire description of the collection since a lot of bloggers already did so I'll just jump right away with the main product of this post. the ICE CREAM NAIL POLISHES~

Let me show you some promotional ads for this product ^^

Here are the yummy name flavors for this nail polishes
#01 Candy Fondant Mint Choco Chip
#02 Energy Up Lemon Sherbet
#03 Sour & Sweet Apricot Candy
#04 Sparkling Strawberry Stars Candy

Actual Products

Before I write down my thoughts on this product, I want to show you swatches of each nail polish on my nails side by side.

First Coat

Second Coat

Third Coat with Top Coat

Products on the bottle and on nails comparison

Note: I apologize for my not-so-good fingers and nails. Please bare with me ^^

Personal Description:
• Product is a bit watery/runny which makes it easier to apply
• Generous amount of glitters each
• Quite sheer but buildable
• #03 has the most colorful glitters
• #04 looks a bit purplish in real life

What I like:
• Easy to apply, since it's watery/runny, not sticky
• Bright and cute colors, good doe summer especially if you want to have that cutesy look
• Cute packaging, yeah! it really looks like an icecream XD
• Nice brush, it spreads the product well

What I don't like:
• It is sheer... you have to apply 2-3 coats to get the desired color - for me, some sheer bright nail polishes that need work/lots of coats are a bit waste of the product.
• Since it's watery/runny, it takes a long time to dry
• The polishes of course contain glitters, and all glitter polishes are harder to remove with a regular nail polish remover

Overall thoughts:
It's a so-so nail polish with a cuter packaging. Personally, I'll use em when I feel like to have cute nails but of course there's always a lot of options. Im not a fan of glittered nail polishes since it is harder to remove >_< But it is fine. I still love em, for display XD LOL. Oh cmon! They're cute right?

That's my take for this product under their new collection. I love EH so I love their products. There are just some that I don't really feel like using but I like having them on my stash. Hihi. Collection? LOL. So, that's it! Let me know what you think about this nail polishes and which products of Sweet Recipe Collection that you love. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my other reviews under this collection ^^ bye~

Revlon Matte Lipsticks: 001 Nude Attitude & 012 Sky Pink | Swatches

Hey there guys! Here's another swatch post of 2 of my Revlon Matte Lipsticks. I got Sky Pink at SM Megamall when it was on sale last Dec 2012. I can't remember how much is the exact price but I think its around Php300+. Then Nude Attitude was got by my sister in the US last year as well while she was having her internship, so I have no idea how much she got it there.

Just a quick insight about these lipsticks, I don't wear them a lot coz most of the time my lips are dry and these lipsticks are not a good partner for dry cracked lips. Well, they tend to emphasize my lips' cracks and dry skin. The lipstick doesn't glide well, its too dry to cover up my dry lips. So whenever I feel like putting them on, I always moisturize and scrub my lips before using them. The texture is a bit creamy, but not as creamy compared to my other moisturizing lipsticks. They are not so pigmented, I have to sweep several times to entirely cover my pigmented semi dark lips. It doesn't stay that long, I have to reapply it from time to time. It is not moisturizing, it tends to feel dry on my lips after few hours, so I always carry my lipbalm to rehydrate my lips every now and then.

So here's a preview of the products,

The cover's top is transparent so you can easily see the lipstick inside, easier to which shade you're going to pick up.

This is how they look like in the tube,

Here are the swatches on my hand. I swiped it around 3-4 times to get that color.

Now let me show you how it looks on my lips along with my almost natural make up look. Before that, let me show you the natural color of my lips. My shade is between NC35 and NC40.

So, here's Nude Attitude on my lips,

It washes me out, I think. I look like I am sick or something like that. I swiped several times to cover my natural lip color. It looks like I'm wearing a lip concealer instead of a lipstick. I don't used this alone, I use this if I wanted to copy the korean ombre lips, I just add a red lip tint in the inner lip on top of Nude Attitude.

And here's Sky Pink on my lips. I think, this is just a right nude color for my lips. It gives a bit of a color that is not soooo nude. It's just the right pink color to give life on my face. Good color for everyday look. :)

That's basically it. I don't like them nor hate them, just a so-so lipstick for me. If you want to grab these ones, always remember to moisturize your lips beforehand so it will glide easily and will look great on tour lips. Hope this post helped you even just a bit xp Let me know what you think of the Revlon Matte Lipsticks. I would loooove to hear 'em. And if you could recommend me good matte nude lipsticks, kindly comment down below so I could try them ^^ ciao~

List of product used on my face:
Urban Decay Naked 2: Booty Call (in the middle of my eyelids)
Maybelline 01 Copper Brown Palette: 2nd Color from left (well if you have the palette XD. For my entire lid)

Review: Missing U Hand Cream #4 Eastern Grass Owl Story

Missing U Hand Cream #4 Eastern Grass Owl Story

Hey there! Happy New Year everyone~ Hihi. Well, I guess this will be my 1st entry for 2013. Hope you'll enjoy reading this XD

I'm not a fan of hand creams and lotions. I barely use them coz I feel icky with the sticky oily feeling I get from lotions I've used in the past.

This! This just grrr~ it's just so cuuuuute so I was like "Noooo~ I'm not gonna use it~ why buy~" then the next thing I knew is that I'm in the counter paying for this cute little thing XD Among the 4 variants, the smell of this is the most appealing. I can't really determine what it smells, but it's the sweetest, well for my nostrils, it is the sweetest among the rest~ I think it's supposed to be peach XD :))

Uhh yeah I forgot, this hand cream comes in 4 variants

Missing U Hand Cream #1 Eagle Owl Story
I believe this is a strawberry variant... wah sorry i wasn't able to remember all their variants/scents name. ~_~

Missing U Hand Cream #2 Kakapo Story
I got this one too! It's an apple scent if I remember it right. This is the 2nd scent that appeals to my nose. It's smells sweet as well. But #4 is still my fave XD

Missing U Hand Cream #3 Cerulean Warbler Story
The smell of this appealed to my sister. According to her the scent/variant name of this is cotton candy. XD I dunno, the scent reminds me baby powder. It is a subtle smell compare to #4. It's more of a baby smell XD

Missing U Hand Cream #4 Eastern Grass Owl Story (Yellow)
Weee~ the last but def not the least. My fave among them all. The box is cute as well, it's just a normal square box and such. This made the product more appealing and cute. And according to the box, it's peach! lol I didn't noticed that earlier XD My apologies.

So, let me show more photos I took.

The expression looks like it is angry or something. I dunnoooooo~ but it is still cute XD

This made me giggle a bit XD "Why is my head next to my body? errr..." XD the expression fits the photo well. XD

and this is how it looks like, the cream, when you first open it.

My review, yes after all those rambling..

Packaging/Container: 3/5
• Cute and colorful
• A bit bulky so I don't really carry this around since it will take much space in my bag
• It's a "dip-it" type of packaging which I don't really mind, but I still prefer a squeeze it or pump bottle with lotions and creams coz I find it more hygienic.
• The box of the main product is cute as well, as I have mentioned, it's not just an ordinary square box. There's a "window" where you can easily the product itself. It looks more like a bird house XD

Scent: 5/5
• Sweet but not stingy to the nose. It's subtle and just right
• The smell doesn't last long when applied, well I guess it's not created to last that long so it's fine

Consistency: 5/5
• It's not greasy, sticky nor oily when applied and when it dries
• It's creamy but not too creamy that will leave you a greasy feeling
• It feels "soft" and very refreshing in the hands

Product itself: 5/5
• It leaves my hands soft and smooth
• If you have hands that works roughly than normal, like me, using this every day and night, it will make your hands more moisturized leaving it soft and smooth which I have now after using it for about a week or two

Overall: 5/5!

The only thing is the container =/ I would love to have this on my bag or pocket but I don't normally bring big bags, sometimes I really don't bring a bag at all. That's just it. So I just rest it in my computer table to I can just dip and apply when I'm feeling roughy and shit. XD

I hope this helps. Have you tried this? Let me know what hand creams you use and which ones are your faves. I would love to hear from you and I might try it too. :) 'til next post!~

Estée Lauder: Pure Color 25 Melon Lasting Shimmer | Pure Color 37 Magnetic Magenta | Pure Color FK Fireball

Ohhhh~! Hellow there guys! I just wanna show you my and my sister's lippies collection :D

it's a mix of highends and drugstore brands. but its mostly drugstore brands XD coz there are lots of affordable ones with good quality ;)

But for now i'll just be talking about the Estée Lauder's ones. My sis got it from the US. HAHA! Thanks sissy loves. Anyway~ going back. So, she got 3 shades.. No, 4... but she gave the other one to mom so we have no chance of using it~ too baaad. but its fiiiine~ we have lots to use anyway XD

So let me present you our babies from Estée Lauder...

| Photo taken with Canon 400D by Liz Carrido |

As I have researched, Fireball and Magnetic Magenta are from EL's Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipstick Collection while Melon is from their Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick. I'm not really sure though! Coz I didn't buy them and I am not familiar with EL collections. But if you wanna check it out you can visit their website.

I don't think they repeat the name of their lipstick's shades that's why I concluded where each lipstick belongs to. Anyway~

Packaging:

The cover is metal-ish in gold. But... I think it's just plastic... Hm... It looks like metal but it feels like plastic. Sorry~ I'm not quite good with materials. If not plastic, It's a very thing, very light metal. And the glass part, I think its a real glass that if it fall into something hard, it'll break. And the logo~ it helps secure the cap. Overall, it's fine. But sometimes I'm having a hard time placing them in the box coz of the logo :P hehe but nothing more. The weight is a bit heavier compared to the drugstore ones. The shade is place just below the glass part.

Color and Swatch:

Now, let me show you some swatches I made for each shade.

Here are some swatches I made in my hand. The top photo, I just swiped the lipstick once. It is not that pigmented when you put it in your lips. You have to do 2-3 more swipes to get the full color. The 2nd photo, I swiped the lipstick 2 more times each. It shows super vibrant colors. And if you can notice, they are shiny! Yes~! They have glitters on them. They look frosty and shiny when applied in lips. They're reaaaaaaaaaally gorgeous! They are great for formal events and night out parties. They reflect like pearls.

How they look on my lips:

My natural lip color! sorry for the low quality photos.. effort much! XD and for my lips as well, cracked~! anyway~

(All photos are taken with Xperia camera phone)

So.... here's
Magnetic Magenta

Melon

Fireball

as you can observe, it shines~ it reflects the light that hits my lips. You get what you see on the tube.

Texture and Smell
Hm... they're creamy. They easily glide on my lips and they don't get into the cracks that much, which is good. They smell a bit perfume-y but not strong but it is fine.

Lasting Power
Hm... I really can't tell... Coz personally, I eat like a barbaric girl so after eating, the color/product is completely gone~ and I have to retouch again. Hehe... Nothing much to say about it. Sorry.

So, I guess that's all it. Hope this helps even just a tiny bit~ LOL. I'm not a fan of EL so I don't think I'm gonna purchase again. Hm but who knows? They might have a better collection that may capture my interest, right?

You guys? What do you think? Have you tried other Estee Lauder lippies? Let me know which ones are good buys. :) Thanks!

| Photo take by Xperia phone camera and edited out some skin imperfections for blogging purposes. Thanks. |

Here's another preview of Melon but I topped it off with Tony Moly's Berry Tint in Cherry but just in the middle to create that ombre effect that most korean artists have. Hehe~! Off to the grocery to buy some ingredients for my mom's bday celeb ;) See you soon, babies~ <3

Etude House Magic BB Cream (moisturizing) Review

hihi. i really wanted to make a review about this bb cream long time ago. XD between etude house bb cream and tony moly bb cream (with same price range), i prefer using etude house's.

pros:
• it smells good. but it doesn't have the perfumy scent
• its not sticky when applied it slides easily on your skin
• doesn't feel heavy its actually pretty light on the face,as if im not wearing any bb cream (for me)
• it will brighten up your skin it gives a natural and flawless finish
• it doesn't cause breakouts i have acne prone skin. i easily get pimples with make up. so this one hooked me up since my skin loves it.  it doesn't make my face itchy nor irritated
• it's cheap! affordable i must say. there's a lot of bb creams that are good but way expensive, and there are some that is cheap but it doesn't give you good quality. this one is perfect! its affordable, and good!

cons:
• it gives light-medium coverage well for me its fine since i don't need heavy coverage. yes yes i know my skin is not perfect. but using bb cream to make your skin super perfect? naaaah~ hehe
• messy pump haha it gets messy sometimes so i always have to clean it up
• one shade but i don't really mind since the shade that they have works pretty well on me. it blends with my skin tone the longer it stays.

now let me show you the coverage that this bb cream can do with this amount.

haha sorry! its pretty messy XD that goes all over my face, just enough to get the coverage i want.

can you see the difference? im pretty satisfied the results though even it didn't super cover my problematic skin XD this is under natural light, no flash.

rating: 5/5

haha since this is just my 3rd bb cream. my first 2 is from tony moly, which i'll try to make a review next time.

will i repurchase it?
YES. well i already did! i bought one for my sister deary :D hihi. but yeah, i will buy another one for me next time ^_^

~*~*~*~*~

sooooooooooooooon.......

as i said earlier, i will try to make a review on tonymoly's bb creams.

secret bb cream 01 natural

whipping bb cream 3 sand

~*~*~*~*~

i would really love to hear from you guys! your own experience with the bb creams of etude house. or if you can recommend better ones, let me know :D thank you!

My Acne Journey

a month and a half ago, i struggled with acne. i tried a lot of things  just to get rid of my acnes: medicines, systems, skin cares and whatnot, over the counters, prescribed ones, etc. i almost gave up and decided to go under skin peels in derma clinics. But yeah, i don't earn that much so i don't have enough money to undergo those kind of things. i still searched on how to get rid of acnes without spending that much until i came across several blogs who said that maxipeel + eskinol works.

But before telling you more about that mixture, let me show you how my face/skin looks like before using it.

YES!!! i know... its sooooo kadiri! XD hehe yeah.. it used to be like that for almost 2-3 months or more T_T

anyway, so my nakita akong blogs saying that eskinol + maxipeel works. so ang instruction is to mix them and used them every night. pero ako i use them morning and night as a toner and cleaner after shower. oo mejo harsh sya sa face but not as much as pagpure maxipeel lang. i will never dare try to use maxipeel alone.

eskinol spot-less white facial deep cleanser with pure calamansi extract + maxipeel .025% / 2% solition 2 exfoliant anti acne depigmenting agent. mixed na sya so ganyan ung itsura nung mixture.

according sa blog na nabasa ko (sorry i forgot:|) namamalat daw sya pagginagamit nia to. but in my case, hindi pa naman ako namamalat. namumula lang ako minsan pagsobrang init siguro pero minsan lang talaga. as in twice pa lang ata since i started using this.

but before i use this formula, nagwawash ako ng face with maxipeels facial wash.

maxipeel exfoliant scrub. malamig sya sa muka and after rinsing it, sobrang maffeel mo na nalinis ung mukha mo. but when i use eskinol+maxipeel formulation, hindi lahat nalilinis pero it did help to lessen the dirt :D

then lately lang since natutuwa ako sa effect ng maxipeel sa muka ko, i decided na bumili narin ng cream nila. i apply it after using eskinol+maxipeel.

maxipeel exfoliant cream #2 moderate. yeah i used number 2 para in between :] hehe.

so eto ung complete set ng "skin regimen" ko for now.

cream, eskinol+maxipeel, and exfoliant scrub.

so, i know you are asking about the results. so let me show you the improvement that my skin had after a month and a half.

ang kintab no? the picture was taken after using eskinol+maxipeel. feeling ko pumuputi rin skin ko. feeling ko lang. ehehe.

so. this is how I get rid of my acnes so far. i stressed "I" kasi gumana sya sakin. pwedeng gumana nga sya sakin, pero it doesn't mean 100% syang gagana sa lahat. we all have different skin types. hiyangan nga lang daw yan ika nga nila. so, kung prepared kayo to take risks, you can try this :) dapat lalagay ko daily update kaso tagal pala, 1 month.. so i decided to post before and after pictures sa loob ng isang buwan. so ayan.

note: pictures were taken by me, they are 100% raw, no editing. i am not a pro photographer. i used camera phone for my face pictures kaya mejo low quality, however, i used my dslr for the product shots. hindi po ako sponsored ng kahit ano, i bought the products with my own money and i am not being paid to do reviews about their products. thank you. AGAIN! this may work for me, but it doesn't mean it will definitely work with everyone. so please, wag niyo ako sisihin pagtnry niyo to then something not good happened. ^_^

Thank you for reading. questions and comments are much welcome and appreciated. :D
